Description
Experiential Learning
A practical therapy needs to be taught on a practical course. Lectures, role playing and handouts are all useful, but the witnessing of real treatment of genuine clients suffering actual symptoms or issues is an unparalleled learning method.
The tutors’ initial contact with the volunteer clients is at the same time as the students – on the first weekend of the training course. Just as eventually in your own practice therefore, the first meeting and consultation is with a complete stranger.
Real-Life Demonstrations
On each day of this practical course, as the volunteer clients progress through their treatment, you will see just how to apply the relevant/appropriate tools and techniques; how each client reacts and responds in their own individual way and how to work with these unique reactions.
Active Participation
All students have the opportunity to question both the therapist and the client at the end of every session throughout the course of treatment – thus gaining the most complete and comprehensive understanding of the treatment and its application in practice.
Supervised Practice
Witness genuine application of therapy/techniques, benefit from full explanations and instruction, have the opportunity to discuss with the tutor/therapist, before putting this into action yourself during the supervised practice sessions.
Complete Treatment
Starting with the each clients’ first visit on day one of the course – and on each successive day of the course to completion of treatment – you will witness and learn:-
- How to run the initial consultation
- How to decide what can be treated and how
- How to agree a treatment plan with the client
- How to explain your treatment to the client
- How to proceed – from consultation through to location of causative information
- How, when and why apply the various techniques and tools required
- How to overcome any difficulties that may arise
- How to correct the causative information to ensure successful conclusion.
Thorough and Comprehensive
The course covers all angles and topics to enable you to begin in practice and know how to deal with the vast array of problems/symptoms for which your patients will request treatment. Basic and advanced techniques are not simply taught to you; they are fully explained and demonstrated in actual use.
You learn not just what they are but how to use them, when to use them and why you are using them.
