"Specific Questioning"
Workshop
Questioning is a key aspect of Curative Hypnotherapy and one which is worth reviewing on a regular basis, looking for ways of improving our wording and direction, perhaps spotting any ambiguities or hidden assumptions, and creating more ideas, more resources.
Maybe, for some of us, there are text-book cases – ones that take us down well-worn paths that we could follow easily and comfortably. But for all of us who believe we could improve our questioning, there will be at least one area that causes us to lack some confidence when the information we obtain from our patients takes us off the path and into the undergrowth.
So this workshop is designed for any qualified therapist who wishes to gain individual feedback on their current style of questioning, participate in guided discussions and exercises and then follow- up the workshop with some actions designed to consolidate the learning and understanding gained.
The training will be facilitated by Mary Ratcliffe who has been in clinical practice in LCH since August 2006 and has successfully completed all 9 diploma course modules during that time. She has practical experience and theoretical knowledge on which to draw, along with the experience of chairing conferences and facilitating a 2-day workshop for newly-qualified therapists. Mary also has experience of giving written feedback to students and newly qualified therapists, and her skills in this area have been assessed and verified by the College.
Mary’s method of facilitating, whether face to face or distant, is to offer suggestions, food for thought, ideas to be considered – rather than answers, solutions, facts. This workshop is not designed to teach any basics but to set up an environment conducive to generating ways forward in treatment.
The initial input to this environment will be the responses that the attendees submit to the pre-workshop questioning exercise. These will be reviewed in order to choose a small number of subject-areas of most benefit to the attendees. Then, guided discussions/exercises will be developed by Mary and they will be introduced and facilitated on the day.
Summary of questioning exercise: -Assignment: - To provide the questioning and responses that would have resulted in the above information.
- Symptom: - Eczema
- Reason: - Protect self from causing emotional harm to others, Punishment
- Belief: - Intelligence, Character
- Emotions: - Fear, Frustration, Inadequacy, Rejection, Guilt
- Causal incident : - Full details will be provided on receipt of deposit
After the workshop, the attendees will be invited to rework their own submissions based on any new or clearer understandings they have gained. These reworked submissions may then be sent to Mary, who will give any further feedback as appropriate.
The training will follow the LCH model and will therefore qualify for CPD credits.
