When can I start on the Practical Course?

Practical Courses are run each Spring and Autumn. Complete listing of dates is included with printed prospectus.

When can I start the Homestudy section?

You can start this section at any time.

There is no specific time-span to this section of the course. It can comfortably be completed in 2-3 months, however some people have preferred to take considerably longer.

Once the Homestudy is completed, it need not be done again - so if you decided or needed to attend a Practical Course several months (or even years) after completing this section - your submissions are still valid and still useful to you and to your tutors.

Do I have to complete the Homestudy before the Practical Course begins?

We do suggest you begin on the Homestudy section as soon as you have made up your mind, however it is not a requirement to have finished this section before attending the course.

As the Homestudy section lays the groundwork for all that is taught and demonstrated on the Practical Course, it is always our strong suggestion that as much as possible be completed before attending the Practical Course.

The Homestudy section must be completed before the end of the Practical Course.

What about advanced courses once I've gained my Certificate?

Lesserian™ Curative Hypnotherapy is the most advanced therapeutic use of hypnosis, and is still constantly evolving. It is for this reason that we strongly recommend all graduates meet regularly with their colleagues and also enhance and extend their understanding and abilities with Continuing Professional Development.

Once you have gained your initial qualification, the Diploma Course will provide individual guidance and tuition during your first years in practice.

After two years in supervised practice you would be eligible to sit for the Diploma examination.

There are many other organisations offering various 'hypnotic' courses targeting one specific symptom or one specific technique - for example "how to treat depression" or "learn NLP" - but our course will enable you to deal effectively with the full range of people/problems that hypnotherapists are able to treat.

Our course is complete.

What sort of help, guidance and support can I expect once I'm in practice?

Once you have commenced in Professional Practice, the Diploma Course will guide you during your first steps - furthering your knowledge, understanding, skills and ability along with your experience.

The tutors are contactable by post, phone or email during office hours Mon-Thurs. In addition, the Online LCH Knowledge Base is available to you at all times, providing hints, tips, guidance, opinions, suggestions etc on a wide variety of topics relevant to the practice of LCH. This resource is regularly updated and is continually being expanded.

The professional membership organisation to which you belong should also provide you with contacts, colleagues and other points of reference so that you get the support we all need when starting out in business.

Information and/or recommendations are provided on the course so you may decide which professional membership organisation will be most beneficial for you.

There are so many different courses, how do I know yours is the best?

Naturally, all training establishments will tell you their courses are the best - and we are no different! But WHY do we say it? What sets us apart from other courses?

Lesserian™ Curative Hypnotherapy is different from all other forms of hypnotherapy treatment, thus we have a definite end result to the treatment. This is why we are the only College that is able to provide a full course of treatment for all the patients right in front of you.

  • Our course is complete
  •

  • You will learn the most advanced use of hypnosis.
  •

  • We provide genuine therapy for the Volunteer Patients.

    • you will see the various techniques in action - and see how differently each patient reacts.
    •

    • you have the chance to question and talk to the patients themselves.
    •

    • we don't TELL you how the treatment works - we SHOW you.

  •

  • You will learn what to do with that information once you've gained it - how to correct it and dispose of its effects.

  •

  • You will learn how to successfully treat the vast range of problems which will be presented to you when you are in practice.

Are the qualifications recognised?

Our courses have been scrutinised and approved by all the major hypnotherapy bodies and our graduates are therefore eligible for membership to any/all of them. (see Accreditations page)

Since 1986, the College has been part of every initiative that has aimed towards establishing national standards of hypnotherapy. As yet, no such standards exist. However, as of 2008 significant progress has been made (see National Regulatory Register on the Acceditations page), and we are proud to be a part of this process.

We have been actively involved in setting the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy. This is a government initiative intending to provide a common basis of knowledge across all the many different types and methods of hypnotherapy. These, however, are only basic standards and a stepping-stone towards the CURATIVE use of hypnosis.
